INDIVIDUALS
HELP INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CO-SPONSORS!
Check to see if your elected officials are one of the 50 representatives and 10 senators that currently co-sponsor this bill! If not, ask them to cosign!!
Find additional resources by visiting the H.R. 1752 and S. 2384 pages!
MAXIMIZE YOUR EFFECTIVENESS
The single most impactful thing you can do is speak directly with your elected Member of Congress. Calling and/or emailing your Member's office are also important but not nearly as effective as talking with them!
Personalizing your message is important. Consider highlighting the relevance of the Bill to your career/job, investments in research/restoration/conservation by federal agencies including NSF, USDA, etc., and/or personal anecdotes that connect you to the Bill.
Persistent contact is key, whether attending a town hall meeting, emailing or speaking with a legislative aid.
Thank folks for their time. Following up is important for establishing and maintaining long-term relationships and affecting meaningful change!
